CATCH (Coordinated Approach to Child Health)
In FFY25, CFHL Statewide Training will offer two different opportunities to help bring CATCH programming into your communities.
CATCH Kids Club (CKC) is designed for elementary and middle-school-aged children and consists of nutrition education and physical activities to encourage active living and healthy eating. Upon completing this training, participants will be certified to conduct CATCH Kids Club lessons in their schools and organizations.
CATCH Early Childhood (CEC) is designed for children ages 3-5 and consists of physical activity, an introduction to classroom-based gardening and nutrition, and encourages healthy eating. Upon completing this training, participants will be certified to conduct CATCH Early Childhood lessons in their schools and organizations.
What is the difference between a CATCH Implementer and a CATCH Community Trainer?
A CATCH Implementer - certifies one to implement a designated CATCH program either CATCH CKC or CATCH CEC to their sites. This is a one-day training. You may retake this course any time as a refresher but not required to recertify.
A CATCH Community Trainer certifies one to train other staff, extenders, or implementers in the designated CATCH program either CATCH CKC or CATCH CEC. This is a three-day training. This certification requires you to recertify after 1 year. For more information on recertification please visit the CATCH website.
