Coordinated Approach to Child Health (CATCH)
In FFY25, CFHL Statewide Training is offering two certification opportunities to bring CATCH programming to your community: CATCH Implementer and Community Trainer.
What’s the Difference?
- CATCH Implementer: This one-day training certifies an individual to implement either CATCH Kids Club or Early Childhood at their sites. You may retake this course as a refresher but it is not required to recertify. This training is offered several times throughout the year. Please see the training calendar below.
- CATCH Community Trainer: This three-day training certifies an individual to train other staff, extenders, or implementers in CATCH Kids Club or Early Childhood. Recertification is required after one year. More information on recertification can be found on the CATCH website. This training is offered once a year, generally at the beginning of the fiscal year. Please stay tuned for FFY26 Community Trainer dates.
The Curriculum:
- CATCH Kids Club (CKC): Designed for elementary and middle-school-aged children, CKC consists of nutrition education and physical activities to encourage active living and healthy eating. After completing this training, participants will be certified to conduct CKC lessons in schools and organizations.
- CATCH Early Childhood (CEC): Designed for children ages 3-5, CEC consists of physical activity, an introduction to classroom-based gardening and nutrition, and encourages healthy eating. After completing this training, participants will be certified to conduct CEC lessons in schools and organizations.
