A message to the CalFresh Healthy Living Community:

Despite the recent elimination of SNAP-Ed funding, Leah’s Pantry remains committed to sustaining curricula, trainings, program resources, and implementer support so that partners across sectors can continue advancing trauma-informed nutrition security.

We are actively working to preserve the resources and institutional knowledge built through SNAP-Ed. As part of this effort, the free repository of materials on CFHLStatewideTraining.org will remain accessible indefinitely.

Your training records and progress on our training platform will also continue to be available beyond this transition.

Food Smarts Adapted for Recovery

This unique training will equip participants to facilitate the Food Smarts Adapted for Recovery curriculum. This training is intended for staff and volunteers working with adults in substance use treatment or recovery. (If an agency has multiple participants, each participant must register separately so that their registration email address can then be added to our online training system)

Light Bulbs to Garden Bulbs: Sowing the Seeds of Sustainability

Did you miss our last live session in August? This repeat session offers another chance to dive into a hands-on training designed to support a smooth and sustainable transition of leadership for your community garden. Together, we’ll explore how to use a trauma-informed and Appreciative Inquiry approach to plan for the future, strengthen community involvement, and ensure your garden continues to thrive. This training is open to all CalFresh Healthy Living staff, including those who have attended previous in-person Light Bulbs to Garden Bulbs sessions.

Your Wellness Plate: Balancing Self-Care with Transition

Change can be challenging, but your well-being doesn’t have to take a backseat. This workshop will guide you past the commercialized idea of self-care to a more sustainable, meaningful practice. You’ll learn how to spot and avoid the pitfalls of consumerism and diet culture, then build a personal self-care plan that empowers you to thrive and serve those around you more effectively. You’ll be able to carry these skills with you to support your well-being as you navigate change and new opportunities. Training Date: Tuesday, December 9, 2025 Training Time: 10:00 a.m.–11:30 a.m.

Food Smarts for College Students

Food Smarts for College Students is an adaptation of Food Smarts, an interactive, learner-centered nutrition curriculum and was created with input from college students. This curriculum recognizes the unique challenges and opportunities college students encounter when planning and preparing meals. The goal is to support college-age young adults to develop skills for their busy lives and growing independence. Lessons are designed to build nutrition and food literacy and confidence and are aligned with trauma-informed principles and the most recent Dietary Guidelines. There are eight 60-minute lessons that can be taught by trained facilitators as a series or single sessions in settings with or without a kitchen.
