The California Department of Social Services is delivering PEARS Trainings virtually for all PEARS users. The objectives of these trainings are to provide users foundational knowledge in the use of PEARS and to ensure the quality of data used to represent California. The trainings are broken up into individual Lessons and geared towards any person who use PEARS to enter CalFresh Healthy Living program data. You can pick and choose which Lessons you would like to attend.

How do I know if this training is for me?
Trainings are customized by the Training Audience. If either of these describes one of your roles and/or responsibilities, this training is for you!

Data Entry Staff: Data entry staff use PEARS to record information pertaining to CalFresh Healthy Living activities of their local or state implementing agency.

Local Reviewer: Local Reviewers review data entered into PEARS by data entry staff to verify its accuracy. They also generated reports to communicate LIA activity to their SIA and other stakeholders.

The PEARS Training is a one stop shop for information on how to use PEARS:

• Screenshots so you know you are on the right track
• Tips to help you when using the system
• Additional resources and help

The training materials have been developed based on established adult learning principles and will include:

• Course outline and objectives

• Training Guide

• Computer-based, hands-on exercise

• Job aids to support PEARS data entry

• Online resources for help

 

In the registration, you will select different dates for each of the following lessons:

Lesson 1: Introduction

Lesson 2 & 3: Program Activities & Indirect Activities

Lesson 4, 5 & 7: Partnerships, Coalitions & Success Stories

Lesson 6: Policy, Systems & Environmental (PSE) Site Activities

Lesson 8: Analyze PEARS Data
