Description

Join us for the Participatory Processes Learning Collaborative! Participants will learn strategies for engaging residents in policy, systems, and environmental change initiatives via participatory research, decision-making, evaluation, and budgeting.

Why a focus on participatory processes? The CFHL Community Impact Framework emphasizes participatory processes within its Community, Capacity, and Program goals. This learning collaborative will equip participants with skills in these areas through learning from subject matter experts, evidence-based approaches, and peer learning.

Collaborative Objectives:

By the end of this training, participants will be able to:

  • Identify critical components of a fully participatory process
  • Articulate the impacts of implementing various participatory processes in CalFresh Healthy Living initiatives
  • Plan for adding participatory elements into county work plans for FFY 26

Collaborative Structure:

Self-Paced Work: Between each Zoom session, participants will complete approximately 60 minutes of self-paced work via the CFHL Training Platform (TalentLMS). If you are participating as an agency or jurisdiction team, there will also be opportunities to work on a team initiative between sessions. More details on the team initiative will be provided after registration.

Virtual Live Session: Expand on the content explored in the self-paced work through group and team-building activities, cross-team collaboration, and sharing. They will be held from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. PST on:

  • Thursday, July 17
  • Thursday, July 31
  • Thursday, August 14
  • Thursday, August 28
  • Thursday, September 11

Who Should Join?

There are two ways to participate:

Join as a team: If two or more people from the same agency or jurisdiction register, they will form a team and collaborate on an initiative throughout the program.

Join as an individual: If you’re the only participant from your agency or jurisdiction, you’ll be paired with other individual registrants for team-based activities.

Once registered, participants will receive a welcome email with more details about the collaborative schedule, self-paced work, and virtual sessions. Please have each participating team member complete this registration form individually.
