In this workshop, participants will explore asset-based storytelling in writing.  This training emphasizes shifting the narrative from deficits to highlighting achievements and positive outcomes.  Through collaborative group work, participants will learn to distinguish between needs-based and asset-based language, and how to draft success stories and Forum posters using an ethical, asset-based approach.

By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:

• Distinguish between needs-based and asset-based language, recognizing the defining features and impacts of each approach.
• Draft narratives using asset-based language to highlight the strengths and achievements of their CalFresh Healthy Living programs.
• Use asset framing techniques to craft engaging success stories and develop Forum poster submissions for the FFY 25 CalFresh Healthy Living Forum.
